IK Frej P99 from Sweden enters to Boys D99 Elite-series
3/27/13 IK Frej P99 plays in the Stockholm's region and has entered the play-offs. Team Leader Peter de Verdier tells us more about the team.
The team was started when the players were 5-6 years old. Although a few players have joined since then, the core of the team is still the same group.
We are playing the highest Stockholm league. There are no easy games, but we have been lucky and won a couple of key games. We finished second the year and are just preparing for the play-offs.
IK Frej P99 in Seger Buster Cup 2012
The team’s greatest strength is the strong team spirit. We win and lose as a team. We are still working hard to structure power plays and box plays. We have improved this season, but we definitely need to take ourselves up a few notches in power play.
We were looking for a tournament with strong teams, preferably in May. We have played many tournaments in Sweden, so this will be the first time we go abroad. Exciting! We had heard that Helsinki Junior Challenge is well organized, so we thought it was perfect for us.
IK Frej in Seger Unt-Cup 2012
In Sweden, we often play the same teams in the tournaments, so we are hoping to meet strong teams we have not met before. Around Christmas, we lost the final in Swedish Storvreta Cup to Tapanilan Erä, so we are really hoping to meet them again. Hopefully with a better result for us…
Thank you, Peter
