Largest girls team in Sweden participate in HJC

4/15/13

Täby FC sign up for HJC in girls C97 -category. Their extensive squad consists of many different type players. Team Leader Peter Selemark tells us more about the team.

The team consist of players from both Täby FC and Täby IS F98 that merged last year and today the whole team consist of 50 players making it the largest girl team in Sweden. Many of the players have played together in various constellations for many years and some are new. Our newest member in the team representing Täby FC at this tournament started playing just a little over two years ago.

The season in Sweden is coming to a close and we have won our F98 series, F96 series and ended third in DJ192. Right now our focus is to win the regional playoffs in Stockholm. During the season 2012/2013 we have won Gold in Scorpions Cup F97, Silver Capri-Sonne F98, Bronze Capris-Sonne F97, Silver Gothia Cup F98 and Silver in the official Swedish Championships (NewbodyCup) missing the Gold in penalty shots in the final.

Our foremost strength is that we have very equally strong formations and all players are strong finishers. If we score six or more goals in one match we often have six different goal scorers. Our players are fit and have good stamina and hence we enjoy playing high speed games. You could say our weakness is that we don't really have one player that can do the job by herself and score a goal on her own, on the other hand we prefer our strong team effort.

We're looking forward to some really high speed and though games. Last yearwinner would be fun :) Noticed they beat Huddinge IK with 8-1 in the final. We've played them twice this year with wins both times 2-1 and 8-1 so we could possibly make it a tight game.

Thank you for the writing Peter!
